Have you been meaning to apply as a caregiver in Canada? Do you see yourself moving to Canada, working to look after a child or an elderly, bringing your family members with you and then receiving permanent residence afterwards?
Then these pilot programs must be for you!
The HOME CHILD CARE PROVIDER PILOT and the HOME SUPPORT WORKER PILOT opened last June 2019 and they are set to run for 5 years. Through these pilots, you can get an open work permit to come to Canada and work temporarily.
Some note-worthy facts about the pilot programs:
Self: open work permit and permanent residence
Spouse (if any): open work permit and permanent residence
Child/children: study permit (if applicable) and permanent residence
The caregiver applicant plus all family members need to undergo a medical examination and police checks (if applicable). Each one should be ADMISSIBLE.
If the application is approved, you will receive your work permit. You can now come to Canada along with family members and start getting at least 24 months of qualifying work experience. You don’t have to work 24 months in a row, just 24 months total. Upon completion of these 24 months, you submit proof of this experience and you wait for a decision on your permanent residence.
