Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)

What is an LMIA and who needs it?

When employers hire a foreign worker, they may need to apply for an LMIA.

An LMIA is a document from the Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) that gives the employer permission to hire a temporary worker. The worker will then use this LMIA before he/she can apply for a work permit.

If you are an employer, we can help you find out if you need one.

If you are a worker, we can also help you find out if you need one. Or you can ask us about the WORK VISA.
